About the Author
DeWitt Tremaine was born in 1959 and grew up in the small town of Stony Creek New York. In his early career he served 8 years in the US Air Force. With a variety of career choices over the years from waiting tables to construction work and most providing computer technical support for over 30 years. DeWitt has traveled through over 40 states in the USA, settling in Idaho in 1987. He got married and had two wonderful children with his late wife. He loves the outdoors camping, reading and writing.
In 1977 he created the world of Ethar as a Game Master running a tabletop game. Cording to the lore of the game the universe and world of Ethar were created by the whim of the Crystalline Dragon. The world of Ethar has filled in and grown over time and is still a platformed used for running tabletop gaming. It is also a world from which tales of fantasy and adventure have come to life in stories. The world of Ethar has a life of its own and the writings are but a glimpse of events that can be shared.

Book One of the: Ethar World Series
A graduate, working as a janitor at his University, Eric Marland, although fit and intelligent, has trouble finding his place in the world. He lives with his girlfriend Bonny and helps tutor students at the University. He designed a fantasy adventure game for internet gaming, but never anticipated actually living in a world like he designed. Eric lives in a temperate climate; he wakes up one day in the middle of summer, with his house snowed in, deep enough to block doors and windows. Then the impossible happens, and there is a knock on the door. Thinking he is still asleep Eric opens the door and in walks an alien creature.
This is where the story really begins. Eric decides to go to this world, called Ethar, through this alien's portal. It is a place where myths and legends are born. Traveling through the barrier between worlds, Eric is changed and finds himself with magic and power he did not have before. He is quickly pulled into the affairs of a local kingdom. His journey takes him into the tapestry of war, intrigue and adventure.

A Time for Change

Eric, his wife Bonny and their friend Jaffro had crossed into the world of Ethar. Jaffro made no effort to return, while Eric and Bonny lived in both worlds. They all discovered they had been granted god-like powers, but avoided using them back on earth. They had serious responsibility in the world of Ethar. Eric sired a daughter by the elven queen Saphrine. This daughter, Chareece was considered a royal secret. Her power was awakening, as was a dark power in the world. There were many races and magic abounding with new deities in the world of Ethar. It was the passing of another time of change. ~ Time stopped. “Father!” The scream echoed in her head as her flaming shadows rose up through the alter. This was the first time her presence in the realm of the Ancients was felt. This was the day the power of ShadowDancer was fully awakened. The ongoing adventure in the world of Ethar.
Book 3
A Touch of Earth

Synopsis: A Touch of Earth
Chareece , who was also ShadowDancer, crosses over into her fathers world unaware of the consequences of her passing.
~ShadowDancer felt honored, “Quickly to your sister now. Tell her they will not need to carry a burden as they travel. The land will yield her bounty for them.” She said warmly, not fully realizing what she just gifted to her followers.
ShadowDancer attempted to be discrete, earth was a world without magic. Her father has more power and magic than other Ancients, the deities of Ethar. The world her father came from was so strange not having magic. Her touch and passing changes the lives of each person that she interacts with. Her followers on earth learn they need to work together to keep this quiet. They unintentionally captured the attention of government agents looking into the gold coins that started showing up. Those who have been touched by the influence of ShadowDancer have their lives changed forever.
Book 4
Savage Continent

Synopsis: Savage Continent
They lived in a harsh land where any mistake could get you killed. They had to be harder than the land around them to survive. Among these cat people rose one who put on every bit or the rules and code of her people, but had a heart to seek the wisdom to make things better. Lyamy was strong will, enduring punishment and accepting the rules that were laid upon her. Then she found herself called upon by an Ancient, a deity of the world. Ancients were relics of stories, myths. Now this one came to help ensure a future for her people. Lyamy still had a lot to overcome herself in this unforgiving jungle land. She found herself with a task of making a future for her people, and for others. Lyamy had to divide her efforts and even herself in different directions. She gives us a glimpse of the diverse and dangerous land. Even the meeting of outlanders seems to come with new dangers.
Book 5
A Journey

Synopsis: A Journey
She brought order out of chaos in a savage continent, now ShadowDancer has set Lyamy on a journey out into the rest of the world. Her den will take care of her cubs, but she will miss them if she has to leave. Can she really be in two places at once? Lyamy is a stranger to the ways of the rest of the world and their politics. She grew up in untamed politics of her own that might help her deal with what was out there. She will have to face death and sacrifice that is waiting for her. The ancients are there for her and she is ready and willing to do what is needed. Good is her inner drive. Her hardest lesson is learned when she messes with time.
